Let’s read some hieroglyphs 𓊹𓌃𓏪! This inscription 𓎘𓅱𓎖 is a new word for all of you! While I haven’t seen it often, it’s probably a good one to know!

“𓄫𓏏𓄣” is the Middle Egyptian word for “joy” or “happiness!” What I love about this word is that if we were going to literally translate it into English, instead of joy or happiness, it would translate directly to “wide heart.” How cute is that?!?!
Let’s break down each of the symbols!
The “spine and spinal cord 𓄫” symbol is a biliteral phonogram that is used to represent the sound “3w.”
The “flat loaf of bread 𓏏” symbol is a uniliteral phonogram used to represent the sound “t.” It also functions as the ideogram for the word “bread 𓏏𓏺” and can be used to make words feminine!
The “heart 𓄣” symbol is an ideogram for heart and mind that can also be used to represent the sound “ı͗b”. The heart 𓄣 can also be used as a determinative in the word for heart 𓇋𓃀𓄣.
So all together, the transliteration of 𓄫𓏏𓄣 would be 3wt-ı͗b. Other variations of the word are “ 𓄫𓏏𓄣𓏺,” or “ 𓄫𓄣𓏺.”
What makes my heart wide 𓄫𓏏𓄣? Going to museums, writing out my Instagram post each day, Marvel comic books, Harry Potter, and of course listening to BTS 방탄소년단!!!!!
Let’s all share something that makes us happy/our hearts wide 𓄫𓏏𓄣!
