The god ๐น Horus ๐ ๐ญ was one of the most important gods ๐น๐น๐น in the Egyptian pantheon. One of Horusโ ๐ ๐ญ many roles was as a mythological representation of the pharaoh ๐๐ป/heir to the throne of Egypt ๐๐ ๐๐. In this statue ๐๐ ฑ๐๐พ, Horus ๐ ๐ญ is depicted as a falcon ๐๐๐ก๐ wearing the combined crown ๐ which represents both the White Crown ๐ค๐ of Upper Egypt ๐ and the Red Crown ๐ง๐๐๐๐ of Lower Egypt ๐ค!ย Horus ๐ ๐ญ as a falcon ๐๐๐ก๐ was one of the most common ways he is represented in Egyptian art.
The Uraeus on the front ๐๐๐๐๐ of the crown is in amazing condition! A Uraeus ๐๐๐๐๐ is usually depicted as an upright snake ๐๐๐๐๐ and is a symbol of sovereignty, royalty, and divine authority in Egypt ๐๐ ๐๐ – all characteristics usually associated with the pharaoh ๐๐ป, and also the god ๐น Horus ๐ ๐ญ!
Horus ๐ ๐ญ was also a sky ๐ช๐๐ฏ god ๐น. Horusโ ๐ ๐ญ name ๐๐ means โThe Distant One,โ due to him residing in the sky ๐ช๐๐ฏ!
Horus ๐ ๐ญ was the son ๐ ญ of Isis ๐จ๐๐ and Osiris ๐น๐จ๐ญ and will often be introduced in inscriptions ๐๐๐ฅ as such! For example, you could see โ๐ ๐ญ๐ ญ๐จ๐๐๐ ญ๐น๐จ๐ญโ on objects such as sarcophagi ๐๐น๐๐๐ญ๐ฆ!
Here are some variants of Horusโ name ๐๐:
