Below is a list of resources that I personally believe create great educational content about ancient Egypt. I have also added my favorite small businesses that have Egyptian and history themed items!
I will continue to add to this page as I locate more resources!
Social Media:
My friend EgyptologyLessons on Instagram and YouTube will teach you all about hieroglyphs, Egyptian history, and walk you through translations step-by-step.
My friend, Mg. Elizabeth Noreña, is an Egyptologist and Associate Professor at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellín, Colombia. You can find her on Instagram and her Website. Her resources are great for my Spanish speaking friends!
My friend Dr. Melinda Nelson-Hurst is an Egyptologist who runs Scribal School, which is a great way to learn Hieroglyphs if you are looking for an online class! You can find her on Instagram to learn more about Scribal School!
Educational Resources:
MET Publications is an online program offered completely free from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and it offers free PDF access to out-of-print books from the MET Museum! I have accessed many books through this program, and I highly recommend it! There are books on any topic, but if you want books on just ancient Egypt, use the “Search” feature!
World History Encyclopedia is a free online resource aimed towards students, teachers, librarians, and educators in general. The mission of World History Encylopedia is to make education accessible to all! I sometimes volunteer/write for World History Encyclopedia, and here is my profile!
I cannot go without my KMT subscription! KMT is a journal about ancient Egypt that I subscribe to (and my Nonno had been a subscriber since 1993). If you want a professional publication about Egypt shipped to your door on a quarterly basis, I cannot recommend them enough! This is not an ad/affiliate link – I pay for my subscription!
Small Shops:
My friend EgyptologyLessons has an Etsy shop where he posts his Egyptian art recreations!
For reproductions and items from Egypt, check out SonOfThePharaoh on Etsy! The shop is located in Canada and has a beautiful collection of items! You can also check them out on Instagram!
While mostly geared towards weddings, FairyTaleLoveDesigns on Etsy has some great worksheets about writing hieroglyphs that are awesome for your aspiring Egyptologist! These are teacher approved (by me – I am a teacher), and great for your history classroom or for homeschool! Check out her Instagram account too!
While not about Egypt, GoldenArtifacts on Etsy sells high quality reproductions of ancient coins, and even has coin necklaces! I have the Eid Mar coin necklace and I wear it all the time!
