I am so lucky because I was able to celebrate my 30th birthday at The MET! My mom π ππ, dad πππ, brother π’π, and sister π’ππ all came with me and I had the best day! For many birthdays, my Nonno came with us to the MET too, so it was definitely sad without him but I know he was watching down on all of us!
We are at the Temple of Dendur! The temple πππ was actually commissioned by Augustus ππ»π and building was completed by 10 B.C.E. Dendur is located in Nubia, and is just south ππ ±π of Aswan π΄πΉπππ²π. Even though the temple πππ was built by Augustus ππ»π, it definitely follows Egyptian ππππ style and not Roman style. The temple πππ was primarily used to worship the goddess πΉπ Isis π¨ππ₯. Since Isis π¨ππ₯ is considered the divine mother πΏππ of Egyptian ππππ mythology, I figured this picture ππ ±π was appropriate for both my birthday and Motherβs Day!
