These are an assortment of glass ๐ฃ๐๐๐ธ๐ผ inlays that are dated to the Ptolemaic Period (305-30 B.C.E.). Glass ๐ฃ๐๐๐ธ๐ผ inlays were used to decorate shrines or other objects that were made out of cartonnage (cartonnage is like ancient paper mache). The glass ๐ฃ๐๐๐ธ๐ผ inlays were pressed directly into the cartonnage when it was still wet in order to make the inlays stock, and this complete the object!

There are many glass ๐ฃ๐๐๐ธ๐ผ inlays in this picture ๐๐ ฑ๐, and the one in the center is representative of a pharaoh ๐๐ป. The pharaoh ๐๐ป is wearing the red crown of Lower Egypt ๐ง๐๐๐๐ (which happens to be blue ๐๐น๐๐ฟ๐ธ๐ฅ – probably to make it stand out). There are also to inlays of Osiris ๐น๐จ๐ญ(bottom left and top right), Anubis ๐๐๐ช๐ ฑ๐ฃ (above the pharaoh), a winged scarab ๐๐ช๐๐๐ฃ, a falcon ๐๐๐ก๐ , and a pillar with a falcon ๐๐๐ก๐ on it.
While these are very tiny ๐๐๐ด๐ ฉ objects, and are probably glanced over quickly by many, Iโm the type of person that loves tiny ๐๐๐ด๐ ฉ things!
Fun fact: the hieroglyphs ๐น๐๐ช for the words โglassโ and โfaienceโ are the same: ๐ฃ๐๐๐ธ๐ผ.
